Dinu Patriciu Mr. Patriciu is the Chief Executive Officer of the
Romania & Moldova Management Company LLC (the General Partner of the
IEP Romania & Moldova Direct Fund, LP) and also serves as the Chairman
and CEO of The Rompetrol Group, the largest private enterprise in Romania
and a portfolio company of the RMDF. Mr. Patriciu is a Romanian citizen
and has an extensive background in establishing and running privately
held companies in Romania. Beginning in 1990, Mr. Patriciu created ALPHA
Construction and Real Estate Investment, S.A.; Alpha has designed and/or
constructed more than 45,000 square meters of office and residential space
in Romania to date, including 40 luxury apartment buildings and villas,
the Village Museum of Bucharest and several commercial offices. In June
1994 Mr. Patriciu founded Omega Press, which now publishes the second
largest daily newspaper in Romania, "Ziua," with over 135,000
copies per day in circulation (6 days a week). Mr. Patriciu also created
TVM, a full-service brokerage house operating on both the Bucharest Stock
Exchange and the over-the-counter RASDAQ exchange. From 1990-96 and 2000-present,
Mr. Patriciu serves as a Member of the Romanian Parliament and a leader
of the Liberal Party. He has a Masters from the Institute of Architecture
and served as a professor from 1975 through 1997. Mr. Patriciu is fluent
in English and French.
